Winter's Song

Winter Song
For this tutorial you will need


Scrap Kit - This scrap kit is a FTU BEAUTIFUL Kit by Kimb's Designs called Winter's Song which you can download from her blog HERE

* Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Sonia Roji which is a  PTU Tube.  You can purchase the tube from MPT  HERE

*  Plug In - DSB Flux (Bright Noise) Set which you can download  HERE
(or you can just use the "Add noise feature" that comes in your psp)

*  Plug In - MuRa's Meister Copies which you can download HERE
(Unzip the plugins and save to your plugins folder)
 
*  Animation Shop (if you choose to add the animated sparkles to the tag)


Let's Begin

1.  From the scrap kit open up the following in PSP;

kb-DecCC10-frame
kb-DecCC10-blingspray-unshad
kb-DecCC10-leaf1
kb-DecCC10-flake2-unshad
kb-wintersong_DecCC-2
kb-DecCC10-word2

2. 
Open a new canvas 700 x 700 white background

3.   From the scrap take kb-DecCC10-frame and edit", "Copy" go back to you main canvas and "edit" , "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  27% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "27%" all layers UNCHECKED. 

4.  Give your frame a drop shadow with settings
Vertical-1, Horizontal-3, Opacity-65, Blur-15 and color Black

5.  Take your magic wand tool and
click inside the frame until you have marching ants
The best settings I found to do this with are as follows;
(see print screen below)
Mode: Add(shift), Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 102, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-alias checked, Inside

6. "Selections", "Modify", "Expand" and choose "5"

7.  From the scrap kit go to kb-wintersong_DecCC-2(paper) and
"Selections", "Select All" then "Edit", "Copy" go back to you main canvas and "edit" , "paste as a new layer". "Selections", "invert" then hit your "delete key" on your keyboard. Move this layer below your frame layer. "Selections", "Select None".

8.  On your layer palette click on your paper layer to make sure it's active.  From the scap kit go to kb-DecCC10-blingspray-unshad e
dit", "Copy" go back to you main canvas and "edit" , "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  27% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "27%" all layers UNCHECKED.  Repeat the resizing by 27% again!! (very important)
(don't worry about not seeing it to well at the moment.  Just follow the following steps and you'll be able to see it better once you've added the filter and drop shadow)

9.  Go up to your "Effects", "PlugIns" and find your  MuRa's Meister and choose "copy" and use the settings shown in the print screen below


10.  Add a drop shadow of
Vertical-3, Horizontal-2, Opacity-20, Blur-3 and color Black

11.  On you layer palette click on your frame layer to make it active.1

12.  From the kit take kb-DecCC10-flake2-unshad and  and e
dit", "Copy" go back to you main canvas and "edit" , "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  20% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "20%" all layers UNCHECKED. 

13.  Go up to your "Effects", "PlugIns" and find your  MuRa's Meister and choose "copy" and use the same settings as we did in step 8 then reduce size to  70% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "70%" all layers UNCHECKED.  Then up to "Adjust", "Sharpness", "Sharpen".  On your layer palette you can move this layer BELOW your frame layer.  On your layer palette right click on this layer and "rename" and name it "snowflakes"

14.  From the scrap take kb-DecCC10-leaf1 and e
dit", "Copy" go back to you main canvas and "edit" , "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  20% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "20%" all layers UNCHECKED

15.  Up to "Image" then "Free Rotate" and use the settings I've shown below and move it to the left bottom of your frame.


16.  On your layer palette "right click" on this layer and "duplicate" then up to "Image" then "Mirror".  On your layer palette right click on you duplicated layer and "merge down" (merging your 2 leaf layers together). "Adjust", "Sharpness", then "Sharpen" Add the same drop shadow as we used in step 9.

17.  On your layer palette right click on your merged leaf layers and "duplicate" then up to "image" then "flip"  reduce size to  85% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "85%" all layers UNCHECKED
and move it to the bottom of your frame. (You can add another drop shadow if you choose).  On your layer palette right click on this layer and "merge down" merging all your leaf layers together.

18.  Open up your tube in PSP and copy it on to your canvas.  With my tube I turned the image into a black and white image by going up to *Effects*, *Photo Effects* then *Black and White Film* using the default settings.  I also "mirrored" my tube and reduced the size down to about 85%.  Place your tube at the bottom of your frame inbetween your leafs

19.  From the scrap take the kb-DecCC10-word2 and e
dit", "Copy" go back to you main canvas and "edit" , "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  25% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "25%" all layers UNCHECKED.  "Adjust", "Sharpness" then "Sharpen More" then give it a drop shadow.

20.  Add your name. I used a redish color for the font that matched the berries in the paper and give it a drop shadow.  Add your artists copyright information.

21. If you do  not want to animate your tag you can now save it as a png file and you're.

ALL DONE.

If you'd like to animate your tag like my preview shows continue on with the steps below.

22.  Right click on your "snowflakes" layer and "duplicate" it 2 times for a total of 3 layers.

23.  Click on your bottom snowflakes layer and go to your DSB Flux filter by going to
"Effects",  "Plugins", "DSB Flux", "Bright Noise"

24.  Use the settings shown in the print screen below


25.  Click on the middle  snowflakes layer and use the same settings as above clicking on the word MIX 2 times.

26.  Click on the top snowflakes layer and use the same settings as above
clicking on the word MIX 2 times.

TIME TO TAKE IT INTO ANIMATION SHOP

27.  Open Animation shop and go back to your PSPClose off your top two snowflakes layers by clicking on the eye in your layers palette (you should see a red cicle with a line through it)

28. Click on your bottom  snowflakes layer  and "
Edit", "Copy Special", "Copy Merged".

29.  Go to Animation shop and "paste as new animation"

30.  Got back to PSP and close the bottom  snowflakes layer by clicking on the eye and open the middle  snowflakes layer by clicking on the eye (the red circle layer should disappear) and 
"Edit", "Copy Special", "Copy Merged"

31.  Go to Animation shop and
"edit", "paste after current frame"

32.   Got back to PSP and close the middle snowflakes layer by clicking on the eye and open the top  snowflakes layer by clicking on the eye (the red circle layer should disappear) and  "Edit", "Copy Special", "Copy Merged"

33.  Go to Animation shop and "
edit", "paste after current frame"

34.  You should now have 3 frames in animation shop

35.  You can now "Save As" your tag as a gif file and you are
ALL DONE!!
