ROCK IT

For this tutorial you will need

* Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Carlos Diez which is a PTU Tube which you can purchase from Up Your Art (UYA) HERE

* Scrapkit - This awesome FTU Scrap Kit is by Lacarolita's Designz "I Love Rock And Roll" which you can download from her blog HERE

* Supplies - Mask and font you can download HERE

Let's Begin

1.  From your supplies folder open up the mask in PSP.

2. Open a new canvas 600 x 600 white background

3. From the I Love Rock And Roll
Kit open up in PSP the following;

Lacarolita_ I Love Rock'n Roll Botle Caps3
Lacarolita_ I Love Rock'n Roll Keyring
Lacarolita_I Love Rock'n Roll  WordArt1
Lacarolita_I Love Rock'n Roll Fence
Lacarolita_I Love Rock'n Roll Star2
Lacarolita_I Love Rock'n Roll  WordArt1

4.  Go to your I Love Rock'n Roll Fence and "edit", "copy", then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer"

5. Along your top tool bar go to "Layers - New Mask Layer - From Image" and arrow down to find your 20%2D20 Mask and use the settings I've shown in the print screen below.

On your layer palette right click on the layer and "merge group" then reduce size to  90% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "90%" all layers UNCHECKED.

6.  Go to your I Love Rock'n Roll Botle Caps3 and "edit", "copy", then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  90% by going to "Image"  "Resize" "90%" all layers UNCHECKED.

7.  Go to your I Love Rock'n Roll Star2 and "edit", "copy", then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  90% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "90%" all layers UNCHECKED.

8.  We are now going to go to the tube and click on the layer CO0036 Meriluz Rodriguez IV (layer with the full image with background) and "edit", "copy", then on your desktop of your PSP (not on your working canvas) you're going to  "edit", "paste as a new IMAGE"

9. Along your top tool bar go to "Layers - New Mask Layer - From Image" and arrow down to find your 20%2D20 Mask and use the settings I've shown in the print screen below. (we are using the same mask settings as we did with the mesh wire layer)

On your layer palette right click on the layer and "merge group"

(see my print screen below for what my image looks like after it's been masked)

10.  Go up to "Edit - Copy" and you can now minimize that image as you won't be needing it again (or close it I like to minimize it for the time being in case I make a mistake later and need to go back and use it again)

11.  Go back to your main canvas and on your layer palette click on your I Love Rock'n Roll Star2 to make it active.

12 .  Take your magic wand tool and click inside the star until you have marching ants
The best settings I found to do this with are as follows;
(see print screen below)
Mode: Add(shift), Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 102, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-alias checked, Inside

image

13. "Selections", "Modify", "Expand" and choose "2" then "Edit", "Copy" and "edit" , "paste as a new layer".  What you have just done is pasted your tube masked image (which was saved on your clipboard from earlier) on to you canvas.  Move the tube within in the star to your liking then go up to "Selections - Invert" and hit the delete key on your keyboard (make sure you were on your tube layer when you hit the delete key)

14.  On your layer palette change the "blend mode" to "Luminance Legacy".  "Selections - Select None"

(see my print screen below for what mine looks like now)

15.  Go to your I Love Rock'n Roll Keyring and "edit", "copy", then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer" then reduce size to  55% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "55%" all layers UNCHECKED.  Move the Keyring over to the right side of the star then with you eraser tool just erase a bit of the top so that it looks like the keyring is hanging from the star.  If it doesn't work the first time you try it juse "edit - undo" and try again until it looks the way you like it to.

16.  Go to your tube and "edit", "copy", then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer" the  Tube CO0036 Meriluz Rodriguez IV layer of the tube.  I then mirrored my tube but going up to "Image - Mirror" Place it where you'd like. I moved mine slightly to the left so you could see the other tube layer a bit to her right.

(see my print screen below for what I have now)

17.  Activate your text tool and add your name. I used the font RockIt (which was supplied in the supplies folder)  size 36 Background/Fill Properties  color black and the Foreground/Stroke Properties Box a grey color with the stroke width set at 2.

18.  Go to your I Love Rock'n Roll  WordArt1 and "edit", "copy", then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer." Move it down to the bottom of your canvas and on your layer palette drag that layer UNDER your tube layer.

18  Add the artist's proper copyright information and save as a png file and you're.

ALL DONE
