No Looking Back

For this tutorial you will need

* The AWESOME Captain Of The Heart Scrapkit I used is from The Quill and Parchment blog which is a FTU kit which you can download from Sabres Quill And Parchment Blog Spot HERE

* Tube of choice, I am using the work of Alan Ayers. It is a FTU Tube which I have supplied
* Mask which I have supplied
*  Wordart made by me which I have supplied

You can download the supplies HERE

Let's Begin

OPEN YOUR TUBE, WORDART AND MASK IN PSP

1. Open a new canvas 600 x 600 white background

2. From the Captain Of The Heart Scrapkit open up the SL-CaptainHrtFrameSabre, edit, copy and edit, paste as a new layer on to your new canvas, then reduce size to 80% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "80%" all layers UNCHECKED

3. Take your magic wand tool and
click inside the mirror frame until you have marching ants
The best settings I found to do this with are as follows;
(see print screen below)
Mode: Add(shift), Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 102, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-alias checked, Inside

image
4.
"Selections", "Modify", "Expand" and choose "5"

5.  "Layers", "New Raster Layer" and with your flood fill tool fill with color #d2b799 and move this layer BELOW your mirror layer

6.  Open a paper of choice, I chose SLCaptainHrtSabrePaper1"Selections", "Select all" then "edit", "copy" then back to your main canvas and "edit", "paste as a new layer".  "Selections" "Invert" (make sure you're on your paper layer) and hit your "delete" key on your keyboard.(Make sure this layer is inbetween your mirror layer and your flood filled layer.  Reduce the opacity of your paper layer to 70%

7.  Open your tube and paste it on to your canvas.  Centre it within the mirror and "Selections", "invert" and hit your delete key.  Reduce the opacity to 50%

7.
  "Selections", "Select None"

8. On your layer palette click on your top layer to make it active.  Right click on it and "merge visible" (merging all your layers together)
(see print screen below for what I have now)

9.  From the Captain Of The Heart Scrapkit open up the SL-CaptainhrtSabrecandle, edit, copy and edit, paste as a new layer on to your new canvas, then reduce size to 50% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "50%" all layers UNCHECKED Move your candle over to the left of the mirror.

10.  From the Captain Of The Heart Scrapkit open up the SL-CaptainHrtMapSabre, edit, copy and edit, paste as a new layer on to your new canvas, then reduce size to 20% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "20%" all layers UNCHECKED

11.  Activate your "Pick" tool
(see my print screen below for where to find it if you don't know where it is)

you will see a box appear around the scroll and in the middle a bar coming out to the right.  If you hover your mouse over it you will see 2 curved arrows.

With your mouse rotate your scroll until it looks like it's leaning against your candle.
(see print screen below for what I have now)

12.  From the Captain Of The Heart Scrapkit open up the SL-CaptainhrtlocketSabre, edit, copy and edit, paste as a new layer on to your new canvas and move it in front of and slightly to the right of your scroll
(see print screen below for what I have now)

13.
Paste your tube on to your canvas and reduce size to 85% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "85%" all layers UNCHECKED Move it over to the right side of the frame

14.
Copy and paste your word art on to your canvas and place it where you'd like.  I put mine on the bottom right hand side just below the mirror.  Another tip for you.  You will notice mine is colorized.  I usually turn my wordart into a "custom brush" by going to "File", "Export", "Custom Brush".  Name it what you would like then go to your brush tool, find your newly created custom brush now you can make your word art whatever color you would like. Give it a drop shadow of your choice.
(see my print screen below for what I have now)

15.  On your layer palette click on your bottom white layer to make it active. "Layers", "New raster layer" and flood fill with a color of your choice.  I chose to use the gradient "Metal Brass" which comes with your PSP.
(see my print screen below for the settings I used)

16.  "Adjust", "Blur", "Guassin Blur"  and set your "Radius" at
"14"

17.  "Layers", "New Mask Layer",  "From Image"  When the settings box pops up arrow down and find your mask that you have open in PSP
(see my print screen below for the settings to use)

18.  On your layers palette right click on your mask layer and
"merge group"

19.  Reduce size to 80% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "80%" all layers UNCHECKED and give your mask a drop shadow of choice.

20.  Add your name if you would like.  I added mine just inside the mirror using "Scriptina" font.  I then gave it a dropshadow and reduced the opacity of the layer to about 65%

21.  Add the artist copyright information then when all done you can save it as a jpg or close off your white bottom layer by clicking on the eye on the layer palette and save your tag as a "png" file to give it a transparent background.

YOU'RE ALL DONE.
