Mythical Valentine

For this tutorial you will need

* Tubes of choice, I am using the work of Jessica Dougherty. It is a PTU Tube which you can purchase from CDO HERE

(You can now buy individual tubes from CILM so I have directed the link to the custom pack page)
OR you can use a tube of your choice

* Scrap Kit I used is from Mythical Designs called "From The Heart" which is a FTU kit which you can get HERE

Mask which you can download
HERE
(right click and "save as" to your computer)

Font Of Your Choice

Let's Begin

Open up your mask in PSP and minimize it.

1. Open a new canvas 500 x 500 white background

2.  From the Scrap Kit open up Paper 6, "edit copy", then back to your main canvas and "
edit paste as a new layer"

3.
"Layers", "New Mask Layer",  "From Image"
(see print screen below if you need help finding where to do this)

4.  Arrow down and find "hearts_05".  See the print screen below for the settings to use

5.  On your layer palette click on the mask layer and "merge group"  See my print screen below for where to do this. Take note which part of the layer I have right clicked on (Mask Raster 2)

6.  Give your mask layer a drop shadow with the settings shown in the print screen below

7.  Reduce size to 90% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "90%" all layers
UNCHECKED

8.  From the, Scrap Kit open up Heart Frame, "edit copy", then back to your main canvas and "
edit paste as a new layer" and reduce size to 65% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "65%" all layers UNCHECKED Move it down and to the left.
(see my print screen for where I have placed mine)

9.
With your Magic wand tool use the following settings (see print screen below)
Mode - Add shift, Match Mode - RBG Value, Tolerance - 32, Contiguous - checked, anti alias checked, inside Feather - 0

image

10.
Click inside the 2 frames with the magic wand tool. You should see running ants around the frame.

11.
Selections, modify, expand 2

12. Layers, New Layer then flood fill with color #dab3cd and move this layer BELOW your heart frame layer.  "Selections",  "Select None".
(see my print screen for what I have now)

13.  Add the tube of your choice.

14  I also added a close up of the tube inside the heart frame.  How you would do this is as follows;
* With your Magic wand tool use the same settings as we did earlier
Mode - Add shift, Match Mode - RBG Value, Tolerance - 32, Contiguous - checked, anti alias checked, inside Feather - 0
* Click inside the heart frame
* Go back to your tube and "edit", "copy" then go back to your canvas and "edit", "paste as new layer"
*  Move the part of the tube you want showing in your heart frame (in my case I used just her face)
*  Selection then invert
* Hit your delete key on your keyboard.
* Change the  "Blend Mode" on your layers palette to "Lumincance Legacy"
(you can see my print screen below for what I have now)

15.  From the, Scrap Kit open up Ribbon 1, "edit copy", then back to your main canvas and "
edit paste as a new layer" and reduce size to 40% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "40%" all layers UNCHECKED Move it to the top left hand side of the heart frame.  Give it a drop shadow of your choice.

16.  From the, Scrap Kit open up Heart Twist 2 "edit copy", then back to your main canvas and "
edit paste as a new layer" and reduce size to 85% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "85%" all layers UNCHECKED Move it to the top left hand side of the heart frame.  Move this layer BELOW your Ribbon 1 layer (so it looks like it's hanging from the bow) Give it a drop shadow of your choice.
(see my print screen below for what I have now)

17.  Add your name and proper copyright information.

18.  "Layers", "merge", "merge visible" and save as a jpg or png file.

YOU'RE ALL DONE

**Note** My preview shows some "noise" added to my tag. If you'd like to do that as well and don't know how to add noise to a tag you can use the "DSB Flux Filter - Bright Noise". I have written a tutorial on how to use this filter if you'd like to try the tutorial to add the noise to your tag.

You can find the tutorial HERE

Animation really isn't necessary with this tag as it looks just as nice without ;)

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial and as always I love to see your results and would love even more to post them on my website on the "Tutorials Results" page. Just go to my "contact me" page and send me a message.
