All Roads Home

For this tutorial you will need

* Tube of choice, I am using the work of Ana Rasha which is a  FTU Tube.  I have misted the tube we're going to use and included it in the supplies folder  below with the proper copyright information.  If you'd like to see any of Ana Rasha's other BEAUTIFUL work you can visit her site HERE

*  Plug In - Lokas Software - 3D Shadow which you can download HERE
(or you can just use the dropshadow that comes in your psp)

Font For Name - AlternateGothicB1

*  Animation Shop (if you choose to add the animated sparkles to the tag)

*  Supplies which you can download HERE

Let's Begin

1.
Open a new canvas 600 x 250 transparent background

2.  On your materials palette change the foreground/stroke properties to your gradient tab and find your "metal brass" gradient keeping the default settings (make sure it's on "linear")

3.  Activate your flood fill tool and flood fill your layer
(see print screen below for what I have now)

4. On your top tool bar go to "Adjust", "Blur", "Gaussin Blur" and choose Radius "30"

5.  On your top tool bar go to "Effects", "Texture Effects", "Blinds" and use the settings shown in the print screen below

6. On your top tool bar go to "Adjust", "Add/Remove Noise", "Add Noise" using the settings I've shown in the print screen below

7.  Activate your "preset shapes" tool (which you can find down the left side of your psp toolbar) and set it to "rectangle" Over to the left side of your canvas from top to bottom draw out a rectangle using the same metal brass gradient as the fill
(see what I have done in the print screen below)

8.  Apply the same blind settings.

9.  Go up to "Effects", "Plug Ins" and find your "Lokas Software", "3D Shadow" and apply the settings shown in the print screen below

10.  Activate your "Preset Shapes" tool again and using the same settings and steps as we did in steps 7, 8 and 9 draw a rectangle box along the bottum of your canvase and up just a little bit.  Once you've done that, on your layer palette move this layer BELOW the other rectangle layer.
(see my print screen below for what I have now)

11.  Open all the supplies from your supplies folder in PSP and "edit", "copy", then "edit", "paste as a new layer" the  "LHDRoadsHomeOrnaments" on to your main canvas then reduce size to 85% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "85%" all layers UNCHECKED . On your layer palette move this layer BELOW your 2 bar layers and on your canvas move it so it fills the large boxed area on your canvas. On the layer palette change the "blend mode" to "dissolve"
(see my print screen below for what I have)

12.  "Edit", "copy", then "edit", "paste as a new layer" the  "Ana Rasha Tube" on to your main canvas and move it over to the left side (just to the right of the left bar that runs up and down).  Make sure on your layer palette your 2 bar layers are still your top 2 layers and your tube layer is just above your ormanents layer.

13.   "Edit", "copy", then "edit", "paste as a new layer" the  "LHDRoadsHomeCandle" on to your main canvas and move it over to the left side (just to the left of the left bar that runs up and down).
(see my print screen for what i have now)

14.   "Edit", "copy", then "edit", "paste as a new layer" the  "LHDRoadsHomeWordart" on to your main canvas place it where you'd like (you can do your own wordart if you like as well)

15.  Add your name to the tag.  What I did was I placed the name running down the side bar. When I used the text tool to type the name out I set it to direction to "vertical and left". I then gave the name a drop shadow as well.

16.  Add the artists copyright information.

17.  Now that you have the base of your tag done we're going to add a border around it.  Keeping in mind that PSP automatically merges all your layers together when you add a border and if you want to save the tag in layers so you can edit it in the future, then you want to preserve the original layered tag in PSP format.  What I always do is hit the "Shift" key and "D" and it duplicates the tag.  I then save my original tag in PSP format and work with the copied tag to add the borders.

18.  After duplicating your tag activate your copied tag and do the following.
"Image", "add border" and use the settings shown in the print screen below (color white)

19.  "Image", "add border" again and use the settings shown in the print screen below (color black)

20.   Take your magic wand tool and click inside the black border until you have marching ants
The best settings I found to do this with are as follows;
(see print screen below)
Mode: Add(shift), Match mode: RGB Value, Tolerance: 102, Contiguous checked, Feather: 0, Anti-alias checked, Inside

image

21.  With your flood fill tool flood fill with your metal brass gradient and then go up to Add Noise and use the same settings we did previously when we added noise.  "Selections" then "Select None"
(see my print screen for what I have now)

AT THIS POINT YOU CAN SAVE IT AS A JPG IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ADD THE ANIMATED SPARKLES AND YOU'RE ALL DONE

If you'd like to add the animated sparkles continue below.

22.  Open up Animation Shop then from the supplies folder open up the LHDSprakleAnimationLarge and LHDSprakleAnimationSmall

23.  Go back to your PSP and "Edit" then "Copy" your tag. Go back to animation shop and "Edit", "Paste as New Animation"

24. You will see that in your 2 animations there are 7 frames.  What we want to do is have 7 frames of our tag.  Go up to "Edit" then "Copy selected" and continue to do this until you have 7 frames of your tag.  Once you do go up to "edit", then "select all".

25.  Click on the LHDSparkleAnimationLarge and "edit", "select all", then "edit", "copy".  Go back to your tag (click on one of the frames top grey area NOT inside one of the frames as it will take the selections "all" off) to make it active then up to "edit" then "paste into selected frames".  Move the animation along the bottom of the larger box area
(see my print screen below for where I mean)

26. Click on the LHDSparkleAnimationSmall and "edit", "select all", then "edit", "copy".  Go back to your tag (click on one of the frames top grey area NOT inside one of the frames as it will take the selections "all" off) to make it active then up to "edit" then "paste into selected frames".  Move the animation along the bottom of the larger box area
(see my print screen below for where I mean)

27.  Now you can view your animation to see if you like it and if so, save it and you're
ALL DONE YOUR TAG

4.  Go up to "Image", "Free Rotate", and choose the settings shown in the print screen below

5.  Move over to the right hand side of your canvas then on your layer palette change the "blend mode" to "dissolve"
(see my print screen below for what I have now)

6. "Edit", "copy", then "edit", "paste as a new layer" the  "Ana Rasha Tube" reduce size to 65% by going to "Image" , "Resize" "65%" all layers UNCHECKED

7.  Add your name and the proper copyright information.
